About Brandy Baxter-Thompson

Brandy Baxter-Thompson, a partner at Lan Smith Sosolik Baxter-Thompson & Johnston PLLC, provides experienced legal representation to the throughout Texas focusing in the North Texas counties of Dallas, Collin, Denton, Tarrant, Ellis, and Johnson. Armed with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in International Relations from Austin College, Sherman, Texas in 1999, Ms. Baxter-Thompson entered Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, which is now known as Texas A & M University School of Law. During her law school tenure, she was accepted to the law review based on her high grades and was elected to serve as an editor. Ms. Baxter-Thompson earned her J.D. degree, graduating in the top 15% of her class, in 2005 and has been admitted to the Texas State Bar since.

Ms. Baxter-Thompson is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of estate planning and probate.ÿ She is also a certified guardian ad litem in guardianship proceedings. She is passionately dedicated to serving the needs of her clients, who often have no one else to represent their interests in court.

Believing in the importance of giving back to the community, Ms. Baxter-Thompson has been awarded the Honorable Nikki DeShazo Pro Bono Award and the Kenneth Fuller Outstanding Mentor Award for her dedicated service to the legal interests of those with limited means in low-income communities in and around the Dallas area. Additionally, she is the author or co-author of multiple articles and presentations of legal education programs for the estate and probate law community.
