After completing her undergraduate work at George Washington University, Georgetown University and the American College in Paris, Ms. Tutoli obtained her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1978. She holds her license to practice in New York, New Jersey, and California as well as before the U.S. Tax Court.

Throughout her legal career, Ms. Tutoli has maintained active involvement in her legal community, and she is a member of The State Bar of California's Taxation Section, the North County Bar Association and the North County Estate Planning Council. She has also served as a consultant with the UCSD Financial Institution Management program, and she has served on a number of committees with the American Bar Association.

Moreover, Ms. Tutoli has conducted lectures and seminars with the San Diego Adult Education Program at MiraCosta College along with other professional business and legal organizations. She has also appeared on local television news outlets, where she has provided in-depth legal commentary on a variety of topics.
