For over five decades, James T. Ryan has been practicing law, and he is now founder of law firm James T. Ryan, Attorney at Law. In matters of estate planning and real estate, he represents clients in Woodbury, Waterbury, Southbury and the surrounding areas in Connecticut. A former veteran of the United States Air Force, he also served as a judge advocate general, is a four-decade member of Mensa and has been a master mason for five decades.

Admitted to practice in the state of Connecticut since 1964, Mr. Ryan graduated cum laude from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1961. He then attended law school at Cornell Law School, where he ÿwas a member of the Order of the Coif and from which he graduated summa cum laude with his Juris Doctor degree in 1964. During his time in the Air Force, he worked in the Republic of China and stateside at a Strategic Air Command base.

Once he returned to civilian life, Mr. Ryan committed himself to the legal needs of his local community. With experience in many areas of law, he chose to focus his practice on real estate law, probate law and estate planning. With practical solutions, he focuses on personal and transactional situations and problems.

Mr. Ryan is a member of the American Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. During his lengthy, successful legal career, he has helped countless clients in creating living wills, medical directives and powers of attorney. Within his real estate practice, he regularly handles matters for which sellers, lenders and buyers require legal representation.
