A 1998 honors graduate of Florida State University, Mr. McElroy attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2001. The Tennessee Bar Association admitted him to practice that same year, and The Florida Bar admitted him in 2005. While pursuing his legal degree, he contributed to the college's legal publication, Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law, as well as to Bogert Trusts and Trustees.

Following his graduation from law school, Mr. McElroy served three years with the Judge Advocate General's Corps for the U.S. Navy, gaining invaluable experience with trial advocacy and handling estate planning services for military service members. Recognized for his contributions, he received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his service from 2002 to 2005 and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for serving at Guantanamo Bay in 2003.

A consummate professional, Mr. McElroy is highly active with The Florida Bar Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section, having served on its executive council for the past seven years. He also currently serves on the organization's Probate and Procedure Committee and the Trust Law Committee and is vice chair of the Probate and Trust Litigation Committee.
