About Elaine N. McGinnis

The founder of her own law firm, Elaine N. McGinnis focuses her practice exclusively on estate planning and administration. She is located in Tampa, Florida, and she represents clients throughout the greater metropolitan area. Ms. McGinnis has been admitted to practice before all Florida state courts since 2004. She attended Florida State University as an undergraduate and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2000. Remaining in the state, Ms. McGinnis pursued her legal education at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, and in 2003, she was awarded her Juris Doctor.

Ms. McGinnis believes that having a well-thought out estate plan can bring a great deal of peace of mind to people, regardless of the amount of assets that they have, and she tailors each document to meet the particular circumstances and objectives of each of her clients. As part of the process, she regularly prepares and reviews irrevocable and living trusts, wills, advanced medical directives, and financial and health care powers of attorney. Ms. McGinnis has also prepared special needs trusts for people of all ages who have physical and mental disabilities, helping to ensure that the government benefits that they are eligible to receive are not placed in jeopardy.

Ms. McGinnis has also guided fiduciaries, heirs and beneficiaries through the estate and trust administration process, and she helps her clients gain a better understanding of what can often be a confusing and lengthy probate process. Additionally, she has explained and then prepared the different types of guardianships that are available under the Florida state law. Her professional affiliations include the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
