Lorien Smith Johnson divides her practice between estate planning and probate matters. Located in Tampa, Florida, she provides advice and counsel to clients throughout Hillsborough County and the Tampa Bay area. As an undergraduate, Ms. Johnson attended Tulane University in New Orleans, where she majored in political economy and served as student body president before receiving a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in 1988. Upon her graduation, she was inducted into The Phi Beta Kappa Society.ÿ After working as a commercial bank officer for three years, Ms. Johnson pursed her legal education at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, and in 1994 she was awarded her Juris Doctor with honors.
In her estate planning practice, Ms. Johnson regularly prepares and reviews living trusts, wills, advance medical directives, and health care and financial powers of attorney.ÿ She tailors each estate plan to the particular objectives of her clients. For those people whose loved ones have passed away, Ms. Johnson guides them through what can often be a complex and lengthy probate process.
The overall quality of Ms. Johnson's work along with her high degree of ethics have resulted in a great deal of positive recognition from her fellow members of the bar. Among her awards and honors are an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and an "Excellent" rating through Avvo.ÿ She has also been recognized in the 2020 edition of Florida Trend?s Florida Legal Elite?.
Ms. Johnson has been admitted to practice before all Florida state courts since 1994. Her professional affiliations include the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers, and the George Edgecomb Bar Association.
