Andrew W. Piltser Cowan is a criminal defense attorney in Boston, Massachusetts. The founder of PiltserCowan Law LLC, Mr. Cowan represents people accused of criminal offenses involving domestic violence, drug violations, sex offenses, white collar crimes and other charges, ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies. He serves clients throughout Suffolk and Middlesex counties in Massachusetts.

Mr. Cowan has been practicing law for over a decade, and he has established a reputation as a diligent and tenacious advocate for his clients. He has experience at many levels of the Massachusetts court system and is knowledgeable about each stage of the criminal defense process.

Prior to forming PiltserCowan Law, Mr. Cowan worked for several years as a public defender and a superior court specialist with the public defender?s office in Dedham, Massachusetts. He opened his own criminal defense practice in 2013.

Mr. Cowan received a bachelor?s degree in physics and astronomy, with a minor in German, from The University of Iowa. He went on to graduate cum laude from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, New York, with a concentration in advocacy. While in law school, he received various academic awards and a letter of commendation from the Louisiana Supreme Court for volunteer legal work after Hurricane Katrina.

Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Cowan passed the Massachusetts bar examination and received his license to practice law before all Massachusetts state courts. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the American Bar Association. In 2012, his alma mater, Cornell Law School, presented him with its ?Rising Star Award? for exemplary public service.
