As the principal attorney of Herbst Law Group, LLC, a law firm in Braintree, Massachusetts, attorney Peter C. Herbst Jr. concentrates his practice exclusively on estate planning, estate and trust administration, elder law and taxation. Serving clients throughout the Boston metro area and South Shore region and across Massachusetts, Mr. Herbst uses his extensive knowledge and experience to help his clients protect themselves, their assets and their families for the future.
As an attorney, Mr. Herbst advises and educates his clients about their available options. Using a network of financial advisors and other professionals, he then works with his clients to devise comprehensive estate plans that will achieve their specific needs and goals.
A 1999 graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mr. Herbst attended Vermont Law School, obtaining his Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2005. In law school, Mr. Herbst was active in the student bar association and served as managing editor for the Vermont Law Review. He also taught legal writing and reasoning to first year law students as he completed his third year.
In 2008, the Massachusetts Bar Association admitted him to practice. He is also licensed to practice in Connecticut as well as before the U.S. Tax Court. In 2012, Mr. Herbst completed the graduate tax program at the Boston University School of Law, earning his Master of Law in taxation.
Fully dedicated to his practice, Mr. Herbst remains active in many professional legal organizations. In addition to his involvement with the Massachusetts Bar Association, he is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Boston Estate Planning Council and the real property, trust and estate law section of the American Bar Association.
Along with practicing law, Mr. Herbst volunteers his time and services for several community organizations, including serving on the board for Braintree's 4th of July Celebration Committee and as a Den Leader for Braintree Cub Scouts.
