Christopher W. Smith is an attorney at Chalgian & Tripp Law Office PLL in Southfield, Michigan. Mr. Smith has over a decade of experience and handles matters involving elder law, estates, probates, trusts and wills. He serves clients in Southfield, Detroit, Bloomfield Hills and Farmington Hills.

Mr. Smith received bachelor?s degrees in business and history from the University of Virginia. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from Indiana University Bloomington Maurer School of Law. While attending law school, he was inducted into the Order of the Coif and was managing editor of the Indiana Law Journal. He is licensed to practice law before the state courts of both Michigan and Indiana.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Smith has provided helpful guidance and advice to many Michigan individuals and families facing elder law or special needs planning issues. He is a passionate advocate and experienced litigator who regularly writes and speaks on elder law and special needs topics.ÿ

Serving in many leadership positions, Mr. Smith sits on the Special Needs Alliance Board of Directors. He is the Legislative Committee Chair of the State Bar of Michigan Elder Law and Disability Rights Section and belongs to the Michigan Attorney General?s Elder Abuse Task Force, the City of Huntington Woods Senior Advisory Committee and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Outside of his law practice, Mr. Smith enjoys volunteering in his local community. Over the years, he has volunteered with the Wayne County, Michigan, Elder Law & Advocacy Center, the Oakland County Probate Court and the Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program.
