At the beginning of his career, he worked for the Ramsey County Public Defender?s Office, the Minneapolis City Attorney?s Office and the Anoka County Public Defender?s Office.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota, Mr. Thooft moved on to law school. A member of the Moot Court and the Community Justice Project, he graduated from the University of St. Thomas School of Law with his Juris Doctor.
