A native of Minnesota, Mr. Abress graduated from Bemidji State University magna cum laude before attending Mitchell Hamline University School of Law. While there, he received the President's Scholarship and was an active participant in the Willem C. Vis (East) Arbitration Moot competition. He obtained his Juris Doctor in 2012, and he is admitted to practice in New York and Minnesota as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Mr. Abress began his legal career with an international law firm, where he developed a fluency for Mandarin Chinese. He has also become known for his deftness at handling highly complex, high-stakes issues for his clients.
