As an employee rights attorney in Minnesota, Heather Gilbert represents protected classes and those with disabilities whose rights have been violated by employers, government entities or public accommodations. She is the president and managing attorney of Gilbert Law PLLC, a firm dedicated to helping people in the Twin Cities metropolitan area with sexual harassment, employment law needs, employee rights violations, severance agreements, access at hospitals, and with law enforcement.ÿ Gilbert Law also has a robust estate planning practice area, with services including wills, trusts, healthcare directives, and powers of attorneys.

Ms. Gilbert?s involvement in the legal community includes service with the Ramsey County Bar Association Board, Minnesota State Bar Association Solo Small Firm Section Council Secretary, the Minnesota Women Lawyers Association, and the Minnesota chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association. As a member of the Ramsey County Bar Association, she also serves on the Second Judicial District Lawyer Ethics Committee as an investigator.

Through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc., Ms. Gilbert has received a Certificate of Interpretation, a Certificate of Transliteration and a Specialist Certificate: Legal, which she earned through demonstrating specialized knowledge of the language used in the legal system. She is the only attorney in Minnesota with these certifications.

At Bethel College, Ms. Gilbert earned her Bachelor of Arts in sign language interpreting/translating English, and then went on to graduate cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law with her Juris Doctor. Now, she often teaches courses as an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and shares her knowledge with other legal professionals through presentations at the Minnesota Continuing Legal Education organization.
