About Joseph Klein

Joseph Klein is a founding partner of Korsinsky & Klein, LLP.ÿHe manages the firm?s elder law group, which includes handling all aspects of elder law planning and Medicaid planning. He has extensive experience with complex trusts and estates and regularly practices in the Surrogate?s Court in New York State. He is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and is admitted to both the New York and New Jersey Bars. In addition to being an attorney, Mr. Klein is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York State.

Joseph is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and lectures regularly throughout the state. He does pro bono legal work for nonprofit organizations and is on the board of four nonprofit organizations.

He is an accredited attorney for the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for veterans? benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

A significant part of Mr. Klein's practice involves the preparation and review of wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, health care and financial powers of attorney, and advance health care directives. He also assists clients and their family members with Medicaid and long-term care planning, and he has helped families with the filing of petitions for guardianship of their incapacitated loved ones. Mr. Klein's experience also encompasses civil litigation, in particular will contests and other types of disputes that can arise during the probate process. He has written extensively on topics related to his practice areas for a variety of publications.

As an undergraduate, Mr. Klein attended Brooklyn College, part of The City University of New York, where he majored in accounting and received a Bachelor of Science in 2001. After working as an accountant for several years, he then went on to enroll at Brooklyn Law School for his legal education and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2004. After graduating from law school, Mr. Klein was an associate at a well-known New York City firm before co-founding Korsinsky & Klein LLP in 2009.
