As an attorney in New York who handles cases of estate planning for clients of the Law Offices of Vlad Portnoy, P.C., Vlad Portnoy has over a decade of experience in the the practice areas of estate planning, estate administration and probate, trusts, special needs planning, Medicaid, guardianships and Elder Law. Along with a thriving law practice, Mr. Portnoy also has an active real estate license as of 2019.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, politics and law in 1998, Mr. Portnoy attended the University of Miami School of Law with early graduation in 2.5 years. In 2008, he was admitted to practice in the state of New York. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey since 2005.

Fluent in both English and Russian, Mr. Portnoy is a Certified Court Translator in Russian. A member of ElderCounsel and WealthCounsel for many years, he is a Notary Public as well. As a Guardian Ad Litem trainee, and a Mental Hygiene Law Article 81 trainee from several years ago, Mr. Portnoy routinely serves as Court-appointed fiduciary in complex Guardianship matters. Mr. Portnoy is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, New York City's Estate Planning Counsel Chapter, and is a former Secretary of the New York City Bar Association?s committee on Legal Problems of the Aging. An active member of his community, Mr. Portnoy has worked with several organizations to improve the area. These organizations include the following: the Russian Speaking Business Attorney Network, Carroll Gardens Association, Inc., and Crepini LLC.
