Kim considers communication the key element in successful representation of her clients? interests. She listens carefully to an individual?s needs and concerns. After determining the best course to take on behalf of her client, she is known for getting the job done.Kim has more than 30 years in the legal profession, first as a paralegal and then as a lawyer, and has worked in small, mid-sized, and large firms. Her skills have been focused in the areas of commercial real estate, corporate formations, estate administration, and foreclosures. As team leader working as a paralegal with the managing partner of an international firm, Kim provided valuable assistance with commercial foreclosures and creditors? rights. In law school, Kim pursued her passion of providing accessible legal services for clients in need by working in the law school?s Beazer Restitution Clinic and the Elder Law Clinic. Kim entered private practice after having served as an attorney and Assistant Clerk of Superior Court at Mecklenburg County?s Special Proceedings and Estates divisions where, in addition to various supervisory duties, she presided over hearings in estate matters, foreclosures, claim & deliveries, and minor?s funds. She was responsible for assisting Deputy Clerks, other Assistant Clerks, the legal community, and the public with estate administration and foreclosure proceedings before the Clerk. Her practice is now focused on estate administration, special proceedings, guardianships, foreclosures, and a variety of related matters.Originally from Lumberton, North Carolina, Kim attended Salem College where she studied learning disabilities and the exceptional child. She went on to graduate cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from Queens University in Charlotte where she majored in Communications and minored in English. After working as a paralegal for a number of years, she attended the Charlotte School of Law where she was on the Dean?s List. Kim received an Honors Pro Bono Award for her service in the school?s Clinics. She also served Charlotte-Mecklenburg?s leading voice for children, the Council for Children?s Rights. Kim's maternal grandfather was a Federal judge appointed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. It was her grandfather's influence that instilled in Kim a love of the law at an early age. The judge died at the age of 99. In honor of his memory, Kim has his law school diploma and law license (July 20, 1927) hanging in her own law office.
