David H. Lefton knows how important the details are in estate planning matters. As a partner with Barron Peck Bennie & Schlemmer, Co. LPA, he meticulously goes through every case he handles to cover each possible risk, outcome, and benefit. He has more than 35 years of experience, which Mr. Lefton puts to good use when serving people in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the surrounding areas.
Each case is unique in terms of the factors that shape how an estate plan is developed. Over time, Mr. Lefton has built the skills to effectively address issues, such as estate planning and taxes, probate and trust administration, prenuptial agreements, asset protection, business planning, and business law matters. He works closely with clients to establish their goals, whether those involve leaving a legacy for their heirs or protecting their own financial future.
Mr. Lefton?s success is rooted in his education and experience. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Bradley University before receiving a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton Law School in 1987.
Today, he continues learning through participation in professional groups such as the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Foundation, the Cincinnati Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. David is President of the Ohio State Bar Association and will serve as President from July 1, 2021.ÿÿDavid is also a former District 1 Board of Governor Representative of the Ohio State Bar Association and was the National Chair of the American Bar Association Solo Small Firm and General Practice Divison in 2016/17.ÿ
As a testament to Mr. Lefton?s consistently outstanding work, in addition, to having been named a SuperLawyer in the area of estate planning, he holds the highest peer review rating possible of AV Preeminent* from Martindale-Hubbell, and he has an Avvo ?Superb? rating. Furthermore, as noted above, his peers have elected him as President of the Ohio State Bar Association.
Mr. Lefton is committed to serving the community. He has received the American Bar Association?s Service to Others award and has been involved with groups such as Cincinnati Arts and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati. He also shares his knowledge with others, frequently serving as a guest speaker and publishing monthly columns in Hyde Park Living magazine.
