About Chris M. Dillon

The owner of his own law firm in Bastrop, Texas, Chris M. Dillon divides his practice among criminal defense matters and estate planning and administration. Providing representation to clients throughout Bastrop County and all over the State of Texas, he assists people who have been charged by the state with misdemeanor or felony offenses. One of Mr. Dillon's primary emphasis in this regard is defending motorists who have been accused of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and he has been able to obtain numerous favorable results, both at trial as well as in negotiated plea agreements, for his clients.

In addition to his driving while intoxicated practice, Mr. Dillon's criminal defense experience has encompassed marihuana and other drug possession cases as well as assault. He also regularly prepares and reviews wills, financial and health care powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents, and he helps to ensure that his clients' beneficiary designations are up to date. Mr. Dillon also shepherds clients through the probate process.

A seventh-generation Texan, Mr. Dillon was raised in Bastrop. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Baylor University in Waco, and he received a bachelor?s degree in business administration in accounting in 1994. After obtaining a Master of Business Administration from what was then known as Southwest Texas State University in 1996, he pursued a longstanding dream of becoming a lawyer by enrolling at St. Mary's University School of Law, and he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1999. Mr. Dillon's first legal job was as a briefing attorney for the 7th Court of Appeals in Amarillo, and he entered private practice in 2001. He is admitted to practice before all Texas state courts.
