Amy Green thinks that every individual owes it to her community and to herself to support worthy charitable endeavors and to assist and empower those most vulnerable. She was active as a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity, Kappa Chapter, while an undergraduate at The University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Green then graduated from Baylor University School of Law with her J.D. While at Baylor, Ms. Green was active in Phi Delta Theta Law Fraternity. Amy is a native Texan. She and her family enjoyed being involved in civic and charitable causes in her hometown, and this background began Amy?s love of philanthropy and community involvement. Amy has been involved in many Dallas charities. In 2013, and after years of service to the Housing Crisis Center (?HCC?) as a pro bono attorney, Development Chair, Ball Chair, and Special Events Chair, Amy was elected to serve as Board Chair for HCC. HCC is a local charity that fights homelessness and provides supportive housing for those most vulnerable and at risk in the Metroplex, including survivors of domestic violence from Genesis Women's Shelter and other emergency shelters. Additionally, Ms. Green is a Cattle Baron?s Ball member and was underwriting co-chair in 2014, helping to raise millions of dollars every year to benefit American Cancer Society?s cutting edge cancer research. Afternoon Tea with HCC is on April 26th at the Mansion, and Amy will be there as the HCC Chair to raise awareness of domestic violence and to showcase the good work that HCC has done for over 36 years to transition domestic violence survivors into independence. Amy has been active as a committee chair for many events like the Heroes and Handbags Luncheon and the Ten Year Anniversary Celebration for Heroes for Children, events that benefit children with cancer. Amy has served on numerous committees and supported various charities including Trinity River Mission, TACA, DIFFA, Bright Star Youth Academy, Equest, Junior League of Dallas, United Way corporate campaign director, and United Way Young Leaders Society, among other charitable organizations. Amy has served hundreds of pro bono legal hours for clients through DVAP, HCC, and other organizations providing free legal advice to those in need. She has also been actively involved in the Dallas legal community through the DAYL Foundation, DAYL (Dallas Association of Young Lawyers), DBA (Dallas Bar Association), and the Higginbotham Inn of Court. Amy served as a committee chair with DAYL?s Leadership class for the Education is Freedom luncheon. Amy recently combined her legal practice with Godwin Bowman & Martinez From the boardroom to the courtroom, Amy Green has over 14 years of experience as an attorney resolving transactional and business issues as well as litigation for her clients. Amy is devoted to helping stop domestic violence and helping survivors achieve independence and self-determination because everyone deserves to be safe at home.
