About Ellen B. LaPlante

As an attorney at Unsworth LaPlante, PLLC, Ellen B. LaPlante represents clients in Essex Junction, Vermont, as well as Montpelier and the greater Burlington area. With a focus on estate planning, Medicaid planning, trusts, wills and elder law, she uses her almost 10 years of experience to help her clients create unique estate plans that give them peace of mind about their estates and assets, no matter the age of the client.

A firm believer that individuals of all ages should consider the unknowns of the future, Ms. LaPlante is proud to help her clients get their affairs in order. She earned an undergraduate degree at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University before moving on to law school. At the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, she earned her Juris Doctor.

Ms. Laplante is a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, for which she is currently on the board of governors. This requires her to receive comprehensive, ongoing training on new techniques in her practice area. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Vermont Bar Association, as well as the president of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys? Vermont chapter.

Passionate about helping families with children with special needs, Ms. LaPlante is also on the Vermont Family Network?s board of directors. With an Avvo ?Superb? rating, she is well qualified to develop and publish materials for the Vermont Trust Code and the estate planning field for other attorneys in the state.
