Sonja Aoun is a partner at Briglia Hundley, P.C., where she divides her practice between family law matters and estate planning and administration. From the firm's office in Tysons Corner, she represents clients throughout northern Virginia. Admitted to practice in Virginia since 2001, Ms. Aoun is also admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.

Many of Ms. Aoun's family law clients are people whose marriages are coming to an end and who are thus having to deal with such divorce-related legal issues as the division of complex assets and debts, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support. A forceful courtroom advocate when litigation is necessary, she also has frequently helped them reach an accord on these matters through the negotiation of a comprehensive settlement agreement. Ms. Aoun's family law experience also includes adoptions and the preparation and review of prenuptial and post-marital agreements, and she assists clients whose marriages have already been dissolved and who are now seeking the enforcement of or modifications to existing support and parenting court orders.

In her estate planning practice, Ms. Aoun regularly prepares and reviews wills, trusts, financial and health care powers of attorney, and advance medical directives. She not only seeks to help her clients avoid probate, but she also has experience in guiding them through what can be a lengthy and confusing process. As she has served as a guardian for incapacitated adults, Ms. Aoun uses that experience to help clients who are seeking to be appointed as one for a loved one. Her superior track record in all these endeavors has earned her the recognition of her colleagues, including a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo and being named to The National Advocates: Top 100. Ms. Aoun is a 2000 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center.
